Christine White, MD
I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. I studied biology at the University of Kansas and graduated from KU Medical School. I completed my pediatrics residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte,North Carolina in 2000 and have been practicing general pediatrics ever since. I am board certified in pediatrics.
I chose pediatrics because kids are generally healthy, and they want to stay that way. They’re fun, entertaining, strong, caring, resilient, and inquisitive. I wanted to teach patients and their parents the best way to live a good life and avoid habits that lead to illness in the short and long term.
Over the years, the nature of medical practice has shifted from being patient focused to insurance focused. This transition has led to my interest in Direct Primary Care. DPC will allow for more time with patients and families to really understand their needs and help them achieve their health goals. I would like to have the time to truly educate and care for my patients -- to provide “health” care not sick care to patients.
When I’m not taking care of kids – which I hope to do in to my 70’s because I truly love it – I like to spend time with my husband and four daughters. My favorite activity is going to the dog park with our three dogs. I would be very sad without Netflix. I also enjoy learning about natural, integrative, and functional medicine and how I can incorporate these into my practice. And I really like to sleep.
